Hon. David Borden Endorses Mindi

Rep. David Borden has issued the following statement in support of Mindi Messmer's campaign for the 1st District Seat to represent New Hampshire in Congress:

"As former chair of the New Hampshire House Committee on Science Technology and Energy, I wholeheartedly endorse Mindi Messmer in her run for the first congressional district of New Hampshire.

I have gotten to know Mindi over several years, beginning when she started her work with the Governor's Pediatric Cancer Task Force and continuing through her career as a state representative in Concord. Throughout her political career, Mindi has shown great ability to get results by working across the aisle, and she has the toughness to speak scientific truth to power. Mindi works harder for her constituents and their families than any representative I have ever met, and her skill in communication and persuasion is legendary.

Though there are many qualified candidates in the running for this seat, Mindi truly stands out as the person who will work the hardest for the people of New Hampshire. She boasts the greatest record of hard work for New Hampshire citizens out of all the candidates and truly knows what it means to be a public servant. Mindi has always fought to give a voice to the voiceless, regardless of whether or not those in need live within her district. Her steadfast commitment to doing what is right and her incredible prowess in winning tough political battles make me proud to support her.

I am delighted to offer my assistance where needed and incredibly proud to say that I am with the fighter. I’d like to ask you to join me in supporting Mindi Messmer, the next representative for the first congressional district of New Hampshire."

- Hon. David Borden, District 24

Rep. David Borden attended undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Colorado and Columbia University after serving as an infantry medic in the US Army's 10th Mountain Division. Following graduate studies, he worked as a training officer for the Peace Corps and as a community development specialist until he and his family formed Victoria International Corporation (VIC). VIC has supervised the training for 80 hotel openings in 30 countries and has helped improve customer service in over 400 other institutions including the Harvard teaching hospitals, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and various transportation companies.

Elected to the New Hampshire State Legislature in 2006, he served as clerk on the Science, Technology, and Energy Committee and as a member of the state's Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Energy Board, where he chaired a committee on reduction of energy at the municipal level. He served as chair of the New Hampshire State Biodiesel Commission. Borden has served on the boards of River Network and Southeast Land Trust of New Hampshire and currently serves on the boards of Sustainable Harvest International and the New Hampshire Rivers Council.

It is such an honor to have Rep. David Borden's support for my Congressional Campaign. Rep. Borden is an important accomplished state leader and environmental activist that I greatly admire and respect. Rep. David Borden and I worked closely together on the Governor's Task Force Subcommittee to investigate Coakley Landfill Superfund Site, a complex source of environmental toxins which threatens the water supplies of 5 towns on the seacoast. Rep. Borden also played a key role in my campaign for state representative in 2016. I am so grateful to have his continued support and enthusiastically welcome Rep. David Borden to our grassroots team to win this CD-1 seat.
