Send Mindi to Washington to continue the fight for your family.
On the Issues
Justice is the salvation of Democracy. I will fight for economic, gender, racial, social, criminal and environmental justice in Washington.
We must move forward, not backward. I will work to transform this country into a nation that affirms the value of people regardless of race, religion, nationality, gender identity or sexual orientation.
Healthcare is a basic human right; every citizen, regardless of health or economic status, deserves full access to high-quality healthcare. Health is key to overall well-being and economic stability for all. The only way to solve our national healthcare crisis is to expand Medicare to all.
I will fight for at least a $15 minimum wage and for a tax code that works for the 99% of us—not just for corporations.
Every American has a right to clean air and clean water. In Congress, I will continue to fight lobbyists, the administration, and special interests to safeguard and reform regulations and policies meant to prevent cancer and chronic illness.
I will fight to expand Social Security to lift Americans out of poverty, let people retire with dignity, and take care of our veterans and disabled citizens and their families.
It is not a secret that we are living in very troubled times in which common sense values seem to get ignored in favor of those of special interests that favor relatively few Americans. As one who grew up in the 1960s and early 70s, my engagement in supporting leaders who were willing to speak out and work in the public interest. In that era, it seemed easier to identify individuals who advocated and worked for changes that benefited the social wellbeing of communities they served and the nation as a whole – such as peace, human rights, social justice, health care for all, environmental protection, women’s rights, jobs with reasonable wages and benefits, social security, and respect for all individuals regardless of who they were or from where they came.
I’m supporting Mindi Messmer for New Hampshire’s First Congressional District. Her recent statement about climate change demonstrates that she understands it is caused by humans and represents an existential threat to our country and our world. Too few others in this race have acknowledged this stark reality. Her background as both an environmental scientist and an experienced elected representative makes her highly qualified to work in Congress and advance the ambitious agenda we need to meet the climate emergency." - Dr. Sam Miller, Ph.D. Professor of Meteorology, Plymouth State College
You may ask why I feel this way. I have had the great distinction to serve with MINDI in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, work with her on several issues and see her in action. She is very smart and can successfully and simultaneously handle a wide variety of important issues. MINDI is tough and does not back down pursuing issues that she believes need attention; she is resourceful and tenacious in pursuing the resolution of issues. MINDI is a great listener and is willing to work with anyone of either party to get positive results.
I am honored to have this important endorsement supporting my candidacy to represent New Hampshire's 1st District in Congress from Lawrence B. Wilkerson, retired United States Army Colonel and former chief of staff to United States Secretary of State Colin Powell.
As a Republican State Representative, it has been my privilege to observe, work alongside, and serve in the same body and same building with Representative Mindi Messmer in the last session.
I've worked in Environmental Health and Safety as an engineering professional for over 12 years for various companies, and now I do research on the health effects of environmental pollutants as a scientist and teacher. As a scientist who is concerned about the health effects from environmental exposures, I know how important it will be to have Rep. Mindi Messmer represent New Hampshire in the CD-01 seat.
I am thrilled to announce that Pledgemaker has sought me out to give me this award based on my body legislative work fighting for women, people of color, and other gender and social justice issues. In a time when so many rights and values are under attack, I am thankful that Pledgemaker realizes the importance of supporting candidates that do the hard work fighting back.
"I am endorsing Mindi Messmer for Congress because she speaks up for all of us no matter what our party affiliation is. As a state representative serving on the Agriculture and Environment Committee, I witnessed how hard Mindi fights for important policy to protect public health.”
The New Hampshire House Progressive Caucus (NHHPC) is proud to endorse Mindi Messmer’s candidacy for New Hampshire’s First Congressional District to the US House of Representatives.
Marie Duggan is a Professor of Economics at Keene State College and co-editor of Dollars and Sense. Last fall, Professor Duggan invited me to speak to her economics students about money in policy. Later in the day, Professor Duggan and Professor Travis arranged for me to present about environmental issues to a “standing room only” crowd. The following quote from Professor Duggan particularly strikes a chord with me, “I am fortunate to teach at a college with many who are first in their families to go to college, and who drink up ideas as fast as I can teach them.” Not only does Professor Duggan understand the real personal impact of the highest in the nation rates of breast, bladder and pediatric cancer but also the economic impact. Professor Duggan has been a constant resource on economic issues and I am so honored to have her support for my Congressional campaign.
In two months, we’ll vote to choose a candidate for the Congressional District 1 seat from a crowded field with many talented candidates. We’ll need to choose the best person, who’ll fight for us on important issues and uphold our values, and who can win this race in November.
We are happy to announce that Seacoast Huddle is endorsing Mindi Messmer for Congress. Our group did extensive research on nine Democratic candidates for the First Congressional District of NH. We looked at their activism prior to declaring for CD1, instead of simply reviewing their campaign platforms. As a result, we reported on three issues where we saw major differences between the candidates.
Mindi, as one of only two scientists in the House of Representatives, will make a difference. We have already seen this difference as a result of her good work in the New Hampshire Legislature and I know we will likewise see it in Washington.
"As former chair of the New Hampshire House Committee on Science Technology and Energy, I wholeheartedly endorse Mindi Messmer in her run for the first congressional district of New Hampshire.”
“Of all the candidates in this race, one truly stands out as someone who will fight tirelessly for the people of New Hampshire. Representative Mindi Messmer has been on the front line for years, working to protect New Hampshire families, including defending the quality of our drinking water, our civil rights, and our fundamental principles. I am proud to support Mindi’s campaign for New Hampshire Congressional District 1.”
“Mindy Messmer’s deep commitment to child safety and her leadership in addressing environmental threats to children, separates her from the pack running for the Democratic nomination in the first congressional district.”
“Mindi brings a unique perspective on the hazards we are facing as a state. I’ve watched her fight for responsible legislation to ensure our families receive the protections they deserve to have against corporate polluters that wreak havoc on the lives of our citizens, often robbing them of loved ones.”
“I am fully supporting Representative Messmer’s run for Congress because, at a time when facts, evidence, and science are under attack from industry, their lobbyists and the Trump Administration, I know this is a threat to public health and we need more scientists in Congress.”
So grateful to receive the endorsement of Women for Justice by Our Revolution! Social, economic, and environmental justice issues are all intertwined and I am encouraged that an organization like this recognizes women who fight for all justice for all.
NH colleague and Professor of Health Management and Policy and NH State Rep. Jeffrey Salloway, PhD publicly endorsed my campaign for the 1st Congressional seat! I am so honored to have the support of such an accomplished scientist.
